What looks better??? lots of spacers on the head tube, or an upward turned stem??? Vote now!
An upward turned stem looks less worse.
Upward stem looks better and is probably safer.
What’s “lots of spacers” 2cm? 5cm? 10cm?
i think that anything below 5cm of spacers is acceptable.
Do you really mean 5cm? That’s a lot of spacers!
Steve
I vote for whatever is needed whether it be alot of spacers or the upward stem for the proper fit. That looks more cool to me than the person trying to be cool who has no spacers and an improper fit.
Upward stem looks better and is probably safer.
it may be against your common sense, but an upturned stem is not substantially safer than a normal stem with lots of spacers, if the bars are in the same place in space.
How about choosing and riding a frame that fits? Won’t that look best?
I can’t tell you how many racers I’ve seen lately who are riding a frame that is obviously way too small for them and to compensate they’ve got 5+cms of spacers below AND above their stem - talk about looking foolish and unsafe. They look like circus bears riding these tiny bikes - what gives? Did I miss something here? Is this the new fad - spend thousands of dollars for a bike that doesn’t fit you because it’s the brand you want and the only size they had in stock or will have in stock for the next 8 months is a 48cm and you are 6’1" 230 lbs?
Seems like some people are buying a bike for the look and the name and not the fit.
