Convert Cervelo P2K for Century

I want to convert my Cervelo P2K for a century ride that I have coming up in March. Can/Should this be done? Any tips or advice.

what kind of conversion do you want to do? I’ve ridden my p2K on several centuries as is----

I’m with chainring on this one. If your focus is triathlon, then leave it as is and use the century as a good long training ride. This morning I did 80 miles (60 of which were very hilly) on my P2C which was setup exactly as I’d race it except for race wheels.

I am riding with a group and they are all road guys. Most of them are not comfortable with me down in my aero bars. I will not do another tri this season, due to an ankle and knee injury, just long road rides.

It won’t cost you much more to pick up a passable used road bike then it will to convert a tri bike to sti shifters.

“Most of them are not comfortable with me down in my aero bars.”

I wouldn’t be either if you’re riding pace line. Aerobar riding is dangerous in that type of situation unless you intend to pull from the front the entire distance.

You’ll have to be sitting up and riding the base bars with your hands near the brakes when in the pace line. That’s not the most comfortable way to ride for 100 miles on a P2K. I would elevate your front with spacers or an upturned stem and slide the seat back. Not much else you can do other unless you’re planning on adding drop bars and STI.

If you’re not doing any more tris for awhile why not sell the P2K and pick up a similiar vintage Soloist?
