Any opinions on the racing podiums vs sprinters? I currently have podiums, they are slick and narrow. Based on looks they would be faster than the wider and treaded sprinter. Im thinking I read somewhere on here that wider is faster? A little advice please!
You are taking bigger risks using these tubs due to their lower tolerances to punctures. I think what you are referring to is not that wider is better, but wider is more comfortable to ride on.
John Cobb had (about 1 year ago) an article on his old website saying the Conti Competitions are great and with the 22mm back and 19mm front it offers the “best” aero advantage. Judges are still out on that one BUT a certain Mr Armstrong uses that combo when doing his TT’s.
Personally i use the Conti Comp 22 both front and back on a Zipp 909 wheelset, never had any problems and great ride!
