Great job…congrats!!

<< It gives hope to old-timers everywhere, Brian.
You are never too old.

at 38 you’re still a spring chicken Chad
Give it another 10 years.

Ah, but there is a difference, Mike. Unlike you with a sub-30 minute 10K PR, I was never fast when I was younger. I ran a few years from age 12-15, and then rode and raced my bike for a few years. In my mid-20s I ran one year of college track. One of my most amusing recollections is tying for last place the day I set my modest 2:01 800 meter indoor PR. My mile PR was also pretty underwhelming.
I never had a coach who taught me how to be fast and it took me until a few years ago to figure it out.
I expect I may be faster at 40 than today as long as I can continue along the path I have entered. When the splits come out, I will be very surprised if the combined 5Ks don’t better my open 10K PR of 33:37 set at the Sallie Mae race in D.C. five years ago on a pancake flat course.
Of course, in 10 years I will have three teenagers living in my house, so that alone may age me prematurely.

If remember correctly you did well at this race two years ago.
