Very unfortunate. It was at Challenge Ranch Cordova yesterday. There was a lot of medical personnel out there tending to her. I also saw a car clip a cone next to me as well. Very scary. Traffic moves pretty fast on hwy 16. Although most of the course was fun, there was some debris large enough that couldn’t have gone unnoticed if driving the course…pine cones the size of large coconuts. I read that Jesse Thomas hit a rock early in the race.
Not sure how the driver didn’t notice hitting a cone but if you did notice (which you probably did) you’d look in the mirror and see someone falling.
As I was running across a busy controlled intersection a woman in an SUV (first car in line) was yelling at the police officer. Wow, did he lay into her! He basically yelled to her that if she would have been paying attention she would have been across already. It was pretty funny.
Rode by after it happened and was told he was okay. Super happy to hear that. Hope he heals quickly!
