Trey and Billy in Worcester for 2 nights.

Went to Louder Than Life in Louisville last Thursday.
Maiden headlined and were solid.

Pantera, Alice Cooper and Sabaton (surprised as I didn’t really know them) were my top 3.

Looks like I might be going to London next year.

Anybody that follows my posts on the music threads here know that I have an unhealthy obsession with the work of Frank Turner. I was gutted by this news this morning.

I saw that also and had the same thought. I love FT.

KCMO Oct 9

Just added A Perfect Circle and The Cult to the 2027 schedule - as a bonus, Camden NJ is delightful in April.

Just picked up Dropkick Murphy’s tickets.

Phish in AC. Never miss a Sunday show, as the saying goes.

I will point out that in the long run these ‘retirements’ rarely stick. The Tragically Hip are the only band that I can think of that have done a TRUE farewell tour, and that wasn’t really by choice.

He didn’t even specifically call it a retirement and left open the possibility that he will perform at some point in the future. I’ll always hold out hope. Sunday was my 33rd live show of his.

When I came across his music 15 or so years ago it literally changed my relationship with music. Most of what I listen to now is an offshoot of him reigniting my interest in music. He simultaneously launched my interests in punk and folk music. This is going to put me in therapy.

Sunday was my 33rd time seeing him live. I’ve never seen anyone I would put in his category as a live performer. Yes, I realize I’m in a cult.

Powderfinger.

Almost forgot (and sticking with the Aussie theme) Midnight Oil.

The wife and I caught Sara Bareilles last night in Denver on her Good Grief tour. My wife is a fan, particularly of the new album (“Good Grief”) and Waitress tunes. I had heard her name before but could not name a song.

The show was great. Top notch production, sound and musicians. She is a pro. Great crowd banter. She clearly had a connection with the (mostly female) crowd.

The show covered most of the Good Grief album and all of her hits. The stage was beautifully decorated with what looked like the frames of houses outlining the stations where each musician played and billowing white sheets covering the stage like a moving tent. It was tasteful and understated and the vibe matched the music.

Will I listen to her music? Unlikely. Did I have a good time at her show? Absolutely.

There’s a reason for that

This must’ve been AWESOME!!!

The pro-shot edit

Metallica at the sphere on opening night was incredible. Perfect sound and the visuals take it to another level.

Everyone should see a band they like there

Here are all of my options for just the month of October if I wanted to spend the money and go out (I don’t).

Beck

Smashing Pumpkins

Continuing revisiting music of my youth.

Holy hell. I missed this by one week.
