I keep wondering how these would work. I upgraded to NA2 on my CT and really love to train with others online.
It sure gets me working harder than I have the mental toughness to do on my own. Also has been making
the time go much faster.

I just downloaded Ironman Arizona demo. It seems like the camera is not pointed straight ahead but off to the left. Anyone else experience that?
Don’t waste your money. Get something that is actually useful for training…

Riding courses keeps it a bit more entertaining. I rode the IMAZ course all last winter and am using that as a benchmark for this year’s fitness. Adding the actual video to the mix adds another plus to the entertainment side. I’m not sure it’s worth $99 unless I lived in the north.
If someone buys it please let us know your likes/dislikes/bugs.
Downloaded some clips, nice looking.
But, what do you actually do with it that is different than the 3d stuff today?
Can you actually race others? Seems not, but I see two folks on the screen.
Is there still a metal man view or something?
Dave
I am having the same question. How is this any different than riding the same course in 3D? Seems it is just real video?
How can it helps ones training.
Still trying to understand how the ergvideo will get me to train “better” than with my using of NA2 online that I do now.
I am not one for numbers in training, (Guess this is why I do not have PM, or HRM, etc.). I know when I am riding with a few folks on line with NA2
I know I am working much much harder to stay with them than if I were to ride only by myself.
Dave
I’m with M~ on this one. If you want to gain fitness, Ergvideo is a brilliant way to go.
What’s NA2? I’ve been training on Computrainer for 10 years and am at a loss. Thanks.

Thanks. Am I correct that it works with your Computrainer?
Netathlon 2 from fitcentric works with lots of exercise stuff. They have a version that works with lots of trainers.
A version that works with treadmills. A version for rowing machines. All of which can be used online with many others
exercising at the same time. You can also talk live to each other if folks want to. I have used it off and on for many years
with my computrainer.
Dave
I am afraid that is the only difference. Instead of computer graphics it is a video. I am not planning on buying.
I am new to the whole computrainer thing, just borrowed one from a buddy. The ERGO mode is with the computer off and you just adjust your constant wattage with your + or - signs on your controller? So basically you are holding a specific wattage say 180 for your whole workout… big ring or small ring or any gear in between? Do you do some sort of sets or specific type of riding when in this mode for your best benifit? Sorry for all the questions just trying to get the most out of sitting in the house on the trainer!
Yes thats the ergo mode. I usually do the intervals on that and do my long rides on certain preset watts.
It is nicer than the computer graphics, but for 100 bucks, and again no on line stuff?
I remember talking to them like 5 years ago about on line racing and was told it was coming
right around the corner. Clearly, they have no goals to do this.
Just wondering how many of these, at this price, they plan to sell?
I still get a kick out of racing online with NA2 with other racers. We draft each other.
We can have pacers in the game. We can have tons of folks all on the server at one time.
You are reacting to each other in real time. Has really made the time go by so much faster.
Surprised so few seem to know about it.

I have to correct Mr Black. There is also an erg mode that is run under the control of your PC when using the “coaching software” from racermate. You can preprogram your time sequence of power levels using notepad or TrainingPeaks Erg+. THe coaching software will cause your preprogrammed sequence to appear at the CT load generator…no need to push buttons as you ride, and you can program vast changes in power to be applied nearly instantaneously. It is autopilot for your workout, no need to time your intervals and you always ride at the target power.
Erg mode runs also under Multirider in “coaching mode”.
Finally, to distinguish the RacerMate Interactive Real Course Videos from ErgVideo. The RacerMate IRCV application runs in “3d” mode where you are riding a grade vs distance style of workout. An ergvideo runs in “Erg Mode”…and of course the version of it that is under PC control…not manual control. I have made extensive postings here on how ergmode works to keep you on target, and am tired of looking up the links. I have a posting at the ergvideo forum faq that is easier for me to find:
Click here for chatty article on erg mode vs 3d mode
The two products are very complimentary and together satisfy the needs of those who desire course-style training (“3d-o-philes”) and those who would prefer Power profile style training (“erg-o-philes”), and of course those who like a great mix of both.

A lot of people ctiticized CT for not having a ‘real life video’ option, now that they have it people are still criticizing. I for one can’t wait to try it out, I’ve spent 100 dollars on a lot less useful things in the past that’s for sure!!
I have always wanted to see CT get a true, online, multirider setup. Never thought “real life video” would make me work harder.
Dave
Probably won’t, I know for me at least it will be motivation enough to actually get on the bike and ride indoors so that alone will have performance benefits.
