Computrainer question - Saving a race midway

I have completed 17 miles of a 54 mile course and wish to save it so I can continue later. Is there a way to save a race in the middle, or can you only save your results once the race is completed?

Are you asking about the 3D software, or the Challenge PC1 software? I only use the PC1 software. That being said…

Generally speaking, yes, you have to finish the course in order to save it… at least through the interface. I had trouble saving my SpinScan sessions, but was finally able to by copying/renaming the temporary files the CT creates. I believe they are BLUE.OUT or something similar, you should be able to find it by it’s date/time stamp. I am not sure if this would work for race files, or if they would ‘play back’ correctly, or if it would work on the 3D software, but I figured I give you what information I had.

I use PC1 also and I have never been able to save a race midway through. To my knowledge both you and the pacer have to cross the line.
When I’m done riding, I usually just hit pause and write down the numbers (how far, how fast, watts, etc) to compare to future rides. The other thing you can do is shorten some of the courses before you ride them to ensure you’ll finish. Just a thought.

My experience is no, it will not save until completed. You can however start anywhere on the course you like. Load your course, then towards the bottom right there is a “start from” box. Just enter mile 18 and off you go.

Good luck,

The late Michael R. Rabe claimed there was a way to do it. If there was, it died with him. We haven’t been able to figure it out. You can “pause” it to go to the bathroom but that’s about it.
