Yesterday I get on the Computrainer for a 15 mile workout we call “Fiffteen Mile Beginner 2”. It has some 2% and 4% grades in it. Gently rolling.
I rode against former U.S. National Cycling Team Member Mikey Roland. Roland was an elite, international level track rider and a Category 1 USCF rider quite a few years ago. Now he is 30 and works at a quality control company.
Mikey murdered me. My heart rate was pegged at 181-186 (my current A.T. is 188) for 38:54. It was incredbley hard and Mikey wound up “dropping” me at 10.10 miles into the course on a descent. One thing about compact cranks, you can only put out so much power and pedal so fast in a 50/11. My regular tri bike has a 54/11.
My legs hurt today. Brutal ride. This guy is so strong. His average (Average!) power output was 376 watts.
Ouch.
