just got one, last week, the latest problem is the program ‘shuts down’ at random intervals. it keeps running but its as if you ‘minimized’ it.
originally assumed it was the power saving feature since it occured almost around the 20 min mark all the time. (but it has also occured at other times too) so i turned that off, through windows (under display - power saving), didnt work. ive done everything from resetting my video refresh rate to a slower speed, to diconnecting from the internet.
any help would be immensely appreciated. i cant use the thing.
I had this problem when I got mine. I think the problem was on the setting for the screen resolution. I think I set it at a lower resolution (which was still high enough for great images) and the problem went away.
Does it always happen on the same course or different courses? I ask because I had the same problem on one particular course. Turns out that I was going so slow (hey - it was a 21% grade hill that went on for miles) it wasn’t registering.

21% hill!!! Did you have to climb up a ladder with your bike on your back?
No ladder. I darn near fell off the bike trying to complete that course. It gave me a real appreciation for the Athens Olypmic tri course: FIVE times up a 20% hill. No wonder some competitors fell off their bikes during the race.
Sorry, I can’t remember. Not only that, but, being the idiot I am, every time I get a new laptop I have to work through this error again - if I only documented what I did!
Happened to us also and what it seemed to be was our virus software doing something in the background (scan or something or another, whatever it is that it does). I say “seemed”, because I tried damn near everything else - turned off screen saver, changed resolution on the monitor, disconnected the DSL, etc. - and once I disabled the anti-virus software it never happened again. So now we have a “spare” computer setup for just the CT and it doesn’t matter, but back then, I would have to remember to enable the anti-virus software after using the CT.
A second issue that I would assume is not your situation, but…My wife used to have problems with it while running Realplayer in the background also, almost like there just wasn’t enough memory to go around, so she quit that and it quit shutting off…that seemed to be pretty self-explanatory though.
It’s most likely some application that is running in the background, Anti-virus, etc. Shut down everything and see if it works. That includes all the stupid things that get installed to run in the System Tray.
