Computrainer (3)

I just ordered my first Computrainer. I’m interested to know whether people have a dedicated bike for the Computrainer or use the same bike as they do their road rides? Any other Computrainer issues that I should know about?

I don’t have a dedicated bike, but if possible it does make it easier to have a dedicated computer. I prefer my garage as I can open the garage door to stay cool, with a VCR/DVD, TV, and sound system available.

i only have one bike so during the winter it stays on the computrainer for 5-6 months. once the spring rolls around, i still ride it during the week and then take it outside for my long rides on the weekends.

at first, you’ll probably enjoy riding the pre-programmed courses or making some of your own but eventually you’ll probably just ride it in ergo mode. which is really cool - just set the watts and keep up your cadence. great way to do the famous 2X20 workouts.

good luck with your ct - it’s a great tool.

Great tips thanks. Keep 'em coming.

I do. It’s really great not to have to swap bikes constantly. yes, you can do it pretty quickly, but it’s a pain in the backside. If you can find a cheap second hand bike, i’d recommend it.
