Computers and aerobar-mounted bottles- my (draft) solution

After lots of frustration trying to find a home for my 910xt with my Speedfil A2 on the bars, I came up with this:

Just used a stock Garmin QR kit, wrapped 2 pairs of rubber bands together, and used the little groove in the Profile Kage to set the fore/aft position.

My next attempt will be to find a strap that fits nicely around the neck of a specialized bottle and goes on/off a bit more easily and attach the QR mount to that somehow. That would make for much easier removal for bottle changes. Luckily the A2 bottle can stay put and be filled from the top.

Anyway, just an idea if anyone had a similar problem. Are you reading, industry guys? An accessory that would allow mounting a computer to your cages might be nice…

Put some miles on this set up and get back to us with a field report as to how well it works. Tim

Initial impression is very good- the bands grip tightly enough to hold the mount quite well, and so far the bottle isn’t deforming under the tension. Definitely need some more miles on it, though.

I see people on here bagging on a brake cable…yet everyone seems to love the the ginormous staw coming off the a2?

It’s okay, it actually makes his Argon 18 more aero.

But, I’m sure it’s tuckable.

This is just wrong on so many levels.

Not me. The engine is still my biggest problem and remembering to drink so I don’t die on the run is a higher priority than the aerodynamics of a straw.

Inasmuch as it keeps my big ass down in the aerobars more, I guess it does make it a bit more aero… But yeah, it does tuck away.
