You’re going to have a bitch of a time finding an ipod in Canada - rumour was that they sold out weeks prior to Xmas, and I haven’t seen a single one in stock in a long time. Best case scenario is to cross the border and pick one up in Bellingham or something like that if you want to take it with you, or order one online and have the girl mail it to you (though the duty might be a bitch - I don’t know how it works over there).
I own a cheapo MP3 player and dig it, but I like ipods.
