Compact Crankset Suggestions?

Anybody using the Ritchie compacts? I have an old Kestrel road bike I really only use for climbing and recovery rides so after a nasty climb Saturday I decided I am going to get compacts for it. Can’t really justify the fancy FSA carbon cranks and the Ritchies are supposed to be ok. Any comments or suggestions for something different?
Thanks,
Mike

FSA makes an aluminum version (Energy) of their compact cranks. I think you can find 'em new for about $120 on ebay. Never used the Ritchey compact cranks but their stuff is always top-notch.

The nice thing about the Ritchies compared to my Stronglights is that you can use the regular splined Shimano BB’s. I purchased the Stronglights bcause at the time the only other option was the expensive FSA carbon cranks. There is more choice now. I’m sure the Ritchie and FSA alloy compacts are comparable.

you can find the FSA megaexo compact crankset for around $180 on performance or supergo or one of those. it’s the non-carbon version, but it includes the new megaexo bottom bracket. similar to the new dura-ace/ultegra crankset.

I agree. I have a pair of Energys and they work great.
