I am interested in converting my Shimano 9 speed to compact cranks. What minimum parts need to be replaced and how much would it be?

The minimum parts would just be the cranks and chainrings. They can be had for as low as around $70 at Nashbar.com.

Keep in mind the Nashbar crank is ISIS, so you’ll probably have to change the BB as well. That said, I have the nashbar compact crank w/ an FSA bottom bracket on my road bike and I love it!
