Anyone raced ComoLakeman?
It’s Aug 22 this year, and the location looks like a fabulous place for a holiday. The bike course sounds spectacular, based on this rather humorous description, apparently loosely translated from Italian:
There will be 47 towns involved in the biking leg that represents the true “show piece” of the race, a course along the whole outer edge of the glamorous Lake of Como; it will reach the top historical- landscape-architectural worth places, only in the world, with breathtaking passageways, quite magic that define all this land. The course on the two wheels should be particularly appreciated also for the altimetrical profile; it is modest but considerably waved , with a few rises like “Valbrona” rise (medium slope 5%) that runs from the 10th km (Oliveto Lario) to the 14th km (Valbrona), or like “Ghisallino” rise (medium slope 5%) that runs from the 19th km (Asso) to the 24th km ( Magreglio) with the historical fabulous ways through at the side of Madonna del Ghisallo Sanctuary and of the modern Bike Museum. So this is a course not particularly hard, but very funny along roads that made the international cycling history ; along them the most world famous cyclists raced.
