What: Independence Day Grand Prix
Where: 7-Eleven Velodrome at Memorial Park in Colorado Springs
When: Wednesday, July 4th, racing starts at 6pm
Who: Sarah Hammer (2x World Champ), Michael Blatchford (Pan Am Champ), and Jennie Reed (Pan Am Champ)
Why: Admission is free and there’s a huge fireworks celebration following

There is also a 7pm session tonight with a few of the last junior national events and the start of the Grand Prix elite events.
Hopefully, the weather won’t mess with the races tonight and tomorrow.

You guys get out last night? Sadly I have lived in COlorado Springs since I was 6 and that was the first time I have been there. I just have one thing to say… The Madison is AWESOME! Those people are nuts!
I was there Sun/Mon/Tues/Wed (but not Wed night) for work. So I saw the junior madison but not the senior. Yea the madison is crazy! Do you remember who won?
They usually have some really good intro to the track clinics that are worth checking out even if you have no track racing aspirations. It’s pretty fun riding (I took the clinic and rode there a handful of times).
I think it was the team with the red, white and blue kit. Was exciting to see Katie mixing it up with the boys in it too!
