Any sub 70 degree Ironmans out there?
IM Wales seems to have a history of being cold, but also wet. I think IM Lake Placid is also usually around 70-75F.
Check out obstri.com , they now have weather data for previous years for each race. Click on a race, and then on the weather tab.
Up on the mountain plateaus in Norseman Extreme triathlon we recorded low 40´s and even 30´s. Water temps in the high 50´s
Ironman NZ can hit that number sometimes (& then factor in wind & rain).
Ironman Norway. However, the inaugural last year was much warmer than anticipated. It got up to the upper 60s and you would have thought it was Hawaii to see some of the locals suffering on the run.
Copenhagen in third week of August could easily be under 70 degrees. While could get a freak “heat wave” (up in the 80s)… Denmark in summer rarely gets out of 70s. Very nice climate for IMs actually.
