Man, its starting to get pretty cold here in NC. What’s the coldest weather you would take if you had to do a century (safely)?

Depends on road conditions. If there is any moisture on the roads, 32 degrees is my cutoff. If the roads are dry, mid teens.
I’ve done over 50 miles below zero. Its really a matter of what clothes you have unless the road are slick.

You guys are way more dedicated than I am. 50F is about my cutoff, unless it’s really sunny. Then maybe 35F. I hate that feeling of a cold face (and teeth!), and breathing cold air while I’m sweating.
I’d rather ride in 90F than 40F.
-5C for Century
-10C for 1 hour to 90 minute rides

Some buddies and I rode last weekend in DC, Northern VA, and MD. The roads were mostly dry, temp was about 30-34, and I loved it. Not as many junk miles when it is cold. You gotta go hard or go home. We went for just over 3 hours. I do agree that clothing is the very most important aspect, without the right stuff you will freeze.
