Well it finally got cold around these parts and I went running over the weekend. Once again my fingers froze! Now I have Raynaud’s Syndrome, which doesn’t help, but I find myself mostly running in gloves that are too heavy to just keep my fingers warm. Then may hands get hot, sweat and then everything gets cold. Does anyone have a great pair of gloves they use and would recommend??
I recommend mitten shells. I use a pair of wind-resistant mitten shells made with “Gore Windstopper” down to about 25F. Below that I add polypropelene glove liners which are good down to about 10F. Below that I add thicker wool glove liners which are good down to about -5F. Below that I use all three.
Can’t really help you out for running, but for other times outside if you have not found anything yet that works, try ice climbing gloves or mitts. These are designed for use with little circulation to the hand, as your arms are always above your head. I personnally use black diamond gloves. I do not need to put the liner in till about -25 deg.
