When I ride I feel as if I am using shoulder muscles to much, instead of using my humerus (upper arm bone) as a column to support my weight. I feel a little to compact and would like to increase my shoulder angle a bit. What is the best way to do this?
move seat back
get longer stem
flip stem (will put me 7.3mm longer and 23.3mm lower)
remove spacers thus lowering and lengthening cockpit
I ride a stock 56" P2C with a Adamo saddle in the forward mounting hole and middle of the rails, 100mm 7 deg. stem in the up position.
I went through this over the weekend with the help of Dev and Tom A.
Long story short and I think they would agree, DO NOT change your position over the bb to facilitate a cockpit change.
Sounds like you area running an aero setup with no adjustability? I just moved my arm rests forward 3cm and it fixed everything. The Profile T1 and T2 are great for this in that respect with adjustability.
Stem flipping options are doable, but if I had to guess you will want more than 1cm of movement in your pads to get comfy…but I’m guessing going off what my changes were.
Hit Dev with a message. He helped me get this down in 2 posts and was also able to fix the problem of neck support. It has dropped down between my shoulders and is sooooo comfortable…and bonus much more aero.
