This is perhaps the best application of the Softride beam - as a seat for the stoker on a tandem. Stoker’s number one problem/complaint is the captain NOT warning them of bumps. With the the stoker on a Softride beam, the captain still should warn the stoker, but it’s not as critical when the stoker is on a fixed set up.
