I was wondering how many Clydes use their HED3s for both training and racing. HED said the HED3 weight limit is 230 to 240. How do these hold up on trainer use?
My training buddy is 220 and he occasionally trains on his H3 wheels. Most of the time he rolls on his Velomax wheels.
Yeah, I train and race on my Hed3’s. Never had a problem. I weigh around 210.
Can’t say I’m a heavy guy (170lbs) but I train EVERYDAY on HED3’s. I’ve been using the same set for 4-5 years and they were used when I got them. They are totally bomb proof!!
I have been training and racing on h3’s for 3 seasons. I am currently 230 but have not alwayd been this “light”.
I would have no reservation about another pair and riding them into dust. I had an alps for 3 days…that worked very poorly and was immediately evident.
I currently have the clip on aero bars and I love them. I pretty much have everything that HED makes that works in my set up. I even have the HED hat for cold swim mornings.

My Hed 3 are bomb proof. I’ve hit holes, sticks, small animals…
I don’t own “training Wheels” just these. No chance of coming to pieces like some of the 4 spoke designs out there.
I’m 190
No brainer
203 pounds and train on Zipp 909 and Hed 3.
No problems yet
