Closest Shoe?

Currently race in the zoot ultra race 2.0 but I don’t like the 3.0 (different construction/ added weight) and the 2.0 are too difficult to find.

Decided to try out the nike lunaracer due to their light weight (5.5) ounces. Was skeptical because I read reviews about their cause of blisters, but haven’t had much trouble with nike shoes (yes i’m a nike fanboy). First run (around 4-5 miles 8:00 min/mile pace), ran with cotton socks, I developed blisters on my back right heel. Second run was a half marathon, wore poly socks/ used some glide this time developed a blister on back left heel. If I can’t break in the shoes and prevent the blisters, might need to find new shoes.

What’s a shoe that’s light like the nike lunaracer but has a decent amount of cushioning for 13.1 miles+? Possible considerations are the Kinavras and the new newton shoes.

On Ruuning might be the answer: trisports is the first triathlon retailer who has ordered 3 times in 4 weeks. You may want to inquire with them.

Take a look at their in depth review. http://university.tri-sports.com/2011/09/23/on-running/

I also PM’d more info.

My team in highschool was nike sponsored and we got both the lunar trainer/racer before anyone else as a prototype. So I haven’t used the current model but used the model 3 years ago. I’d say compared to the nike shoe(at least at that time) the Kinvara is much better. I strongly recommend the kinvaras as they feel great and have the correct support for something of that distance.
