The shoe rocks of the pedals!

Looks like a pretty good shoe. Using a Sidi T-1 Carbon now, anybody else try the Specialized and Sidi and can compare?

 Tilden

Can’t believe you put old cleats on them!

I bought a pair yesterday. Haven’t had a chance to ride in them. One thing is for sure. It’s not a shoe you’d want to wear on a cold day.

I think I’ll love them. It’s evident that a lot of thought went in to developing this shoe.

Just so you know, my wife caught me looking at the pics of your shoes, and wanted to let all uf us know we are some sick puppies to so get excited over a pair of shoes.

I told her she didn’t understand

Ride 'em hard

Funny a wife would call boys crazy for oogling over shoes. I wore a pair of socks yesterday witht he shoes and had no problem with cold. Hey I live in Houston though. If your daily high is one syllable, you win.

And yes I need new cleats.

I don’t sell this shoe but I’ve seen them and I was very, very impressed. They looked like perhaps the nicest tri shoe from anyone I have seen.

I tried a pair on this afternoon in my lbs but I found that as the shoe is open in what would normally be the tongue area I experienced a lot of pressure on the arch(?) or top of the foot.

Shame as there is not a lot of twin strap tri shoes which have substantual uppers (i.e. not Sidi T1) which give some support. Unless you have any suggestions I may well repurchase Time Iron CXs.

The shoe was made for hotter weather (Kona, etc) so I wouldn’t count on using this in the winter.

I gathered that, and the design is not the issue, the pressure area is.

I used to wear Sidi T1’s and bought the new Specialized about a month ago. The Specialized is better in every way. Far more comfortable. Of course it depends on your foot.

All specialized shoes have a tilt of a couple of degrees built into the sole- to the outside. They claim this relieves pressure on the knee. I was thinking about buying these shoes myself, as they appear to be a well built and beautiful shoe, but I’m not sure if I wan’t by foot turned out of a neutral position.

Any opinions on how this tilt in the sole effects knees and pedaling biomechanics?

Thanks,

Tony

I know absolutely nothing regarding the biomechanics of this shoe but I did see one on person today. I really liked it. It seems very well thought out. Great ventilation, nice insole, nice strap (not too long, which I’ve found can be a problem), one piece full carbon sole (unlike SIDI). I own the SIDI (not carbon) shoe and I may switch.

Anyone have an opinion on having the strap go to the outside vs. going to the inside (like the SIDI)?

Having the strap velcro towards the outside bothers a lot of riders in transition because the strap, while unsecured, can fall into the spokes of the rear wheel.

The Specialized shoe illiminates this problem with the aforementioned nook in the leather that keep sht estrap in place until you are ready to fasten it.

Didn’t notice that when I saw them today… 'nough said, they shall be purchased prior to first race '05.

Thanks for helping me spend money this year.
