Clos Bjorling

Will break the Kona run course record. Any bets?

I think he’d actually need to go 2h 39m 20s.

Anyone see his times earlier in the year? I think he’ll go Jan Sibbersen on the run.

Easy swim, easy bike, gone on the run. Look for Gordo to stay with him and fade.

Gordo isn’t racing…or he says on his forum.

2h40’? nah…

He could run that fast, but won’t. He’s got a lot of work to do to catch up to the main bike group after finishing the swim 5 minutes back. I would think Clas is more interested in finishing the bike in the main group and taking a shot at a top 3-5 placing. That means riding half the bike leg solo (to catch up), and riding it harder than the other guys are riding. That is a huge piece of work to do, and he’ll finish the bike leg in a deeper hole than the other top runners.

On the other hand, I won’t be surprised to see Lessing run 2:40.

If he doesn’t break the run course record he will bare minimum have the fastest run split of the day.

But I bet he goes for the record.

Clas is the younger of the bunch and the only one with potential to be a top contender. But he really needs to improve his swim. So many coaches around him, I had hoped for more improvement in the swim the last 2 years.

This is my point exactly. He knows he can’t go with or even catch the field.

So why not sit tight and reel in the Germans first, then any big names having a bad day.

Trust me, as your hitting refresh over and over on the Ironman live website you’ll see the updates saying, “Clos is moving through the field like a deer on fire”.

I was talking about the swedes. Actually Bjorn is older I think.

As for the young guys with potential to be top contenders, the biggest around is Sérgio

Nah, I bet Clas will never get mentioned. Have you followed ironmanlive live coverage? They only know a handful of pros and keep mentioning them. So you’ll get updates on Chuckie V or Peter Kotland, but not from this swedish guy, even if he’s the fastest runner in the race.

Clas is 25 and Bjorn is 24.

And Sergio when you win in 06 I want your race hat, signed

Sergio will not win IMH in 06… IMFL and IMWOO performance are pretty good. But Hawaii is not the same game. Sergio has never race the big names (REID, DEBOOM, LVL, ZACH, HELLRIEGEL, BROWN, LESSING, etc) so far in an Ironman. I have more chance saying that Lessing will in 2006 than Sergio.

The Kid is good but his still miles away from the top field.

Lessing (IMLP): swim 47mins The Kid (IMWOO): swim 54mins

Lessing (IMLP): bike 4’44 hours The Kid (IMWOO): bike 4’59 hours → LP thougher bike course

Lessing (IMLP): run 2’46 hours The Kid (IMWOO): run 3’00 hours → LP thougher run course

Okay Sergio will Improve over the years, so will Lessing don’t forget that Lessing only did one Ironman…

how do you know that im on slowtwitch???

The race hat is yours if i win, but i know that i will keep it

anderson is 26

Gee MTL… you almost broke my heart there

I just hope that sergio reads this an use it as motivation booster to work even harder…

I can’t see Clas having the fastest run split this year. More than ever this year’s event WILL be about the run and Lessing, Reid and DeBoom know it. The fastest run split will be the winner of the race. I am keeping my fingers crossed for another 1989 showdown.

Got an escrow account? I’ll take that bet.

I’m 25 actually.

So much for knowledge on this forum

I said you were 24! You must of grown since Jonas said you were 24 (at the beginning of the year).

I am closest so I get your Cervelo after you get the bike course record in hawaii

HEY man sorry about that :-)…

Good luck for the race!!

God they are still so young those Swedes. Imagine how fast they will be given about 4 more yrs of training?

They are going to blow this sport apart!
