i remember reading someone or other talking about training in cleveland. i go to school here, and i’d like to find training partners, especially for cycling. anyone interested?
also, if you are from cleveland, can you comment on the “cleveland triathlon club”? i don’t know how appropriate it is for me, especially since i already have access to a pool, i can coach myself pretty well for running, and i just need a cycling partner.
at the very least, can you tell me where i can ride without getting killed by the maniacal drivers of cleveland? i don’t want to be on aerobars on those narrow bike paths.
Cleveland Tri club isn’t doing much in the way of group rides yet, but I expect that to change next season. Post a message on their web site stating which side of town you prefer to ride on, along with distance and pace, and I would guess someone will respond. Many in the club will be at the Summa race in Akron this weekend. Heard they will have a table and banner set up. Stop by and introduce yourself. www.hfpracing.com for info.
There are many active bike clubs in the area, with established group ride schedules. That may be your best option for rides this fall. www.crankmail.com has a link to almost all the bike clubs in Cleveland.
I do most of my bike training on a mountain bike on the towpath trail on the south side of town. You can join me on Wednesdays, during the day if you’d like. E-mail me at mtntri1@aol.com
