Cleat positioning question?

I finally just bought some Sidi T1’s for the SOMA 1/2 at the end of this month. I’m just putting the cleats on them now, I have SPD pedals, and I’m wondering if there is any method to positioning the cleats on the shoes. Also, will the float/ability to pull out of the pedals need to be readjusted? As you can probably tell from my questions, I have no idea what I am doing. Thanks.

The middle on the cleat (for and aft) should be on the ball of the foot. If it is behind, you’ll bog down and will not be able to spin. If it is too far forward, you’ll always feel like you are riding on your tippy toes. You’ll have to go through so trial and error to firm up the correct position.
