There is like 2 layers of glue I think it’s time to clean before putting new tires. How do you clean the glue off the carbon rims?
Acetone… use in a well-ventilated area…
You are in for some FUN my friend!!!
Go to trisports.com and check out this glue remover stuff. Works well.
I used Clean Streak on my aluminum rim. Cleaned the whole rim in 45 minutes.
Goof Off
Comes off really easy. Clean it afterwards with a little acetone.
I had this same question:

check out the thread as there was some good input.
There aren’t that many jobs I’d rather farm out to the LBS, but this was always one of them.
Without prior knowledge of the exact resin your wheels are made from or recommendation from the manufacturer of your wheels, I wouldn’t touch them with an organic solvent of any kind (ie acetone). In the thread referred to (above) the OP was advised to use acetone on Zipp rims by someone at Zipp (presumably, since his screen name is joshatzipp). If your wheels are not Zipp wheels, the manufacturer may use a different resin–which might also be soluble in acetone (or other common solvents like MEK, toluene, ether, naptha, isopropanol, ethanol, methanol…).
While I’ve never had to clean glue a CF wheel, I have cleaned up cured epoxy resin with acetone. It dissolves nicely. You might want to check with the manufacturer of your wheel before you chance damaging it with the wrong solvent.
Take home message: all epoxy resins are not compatible with all organic solvents.
