Classic Vintage Triathlon video - just had to share

I watched this video while doing an indoor session the other day. Too good not to share.
Welch, Bevan, Stewart, Brown, McCormack (briefly), Walton, Smith, Bennet, Sanson et al
Really was a golden era of racing in Australia.
Worth watching the whole 90mins for the finish and some of the comments along the way like “youngster Cameron Brown from New Zealand - he’s probably going to be best suited to ITU sprint races”

Not a bad video for the trainer. Truly is amazing how much talent there was in Australia at that time.

Great take-away - race more and race shorter! But no on will listen!

I agree.

I wonder if it was talent alone or the result of the series itself developing these athletes. Forced to race regularly with prize money, a big tv audience, lots of exposure and promotion etc. it would be great to see something like this get up and running again.

What happened on party of five that week?

not to mention the bike cam !

i wish the races now had this much coverage. bike cam, cameras at every corner.

Great video, thanks for posting this. I’d never heard the name “enduro” applied to a triathlon format. What a great format and echoing a theme that has come up here before, it’d be great to have more races following those concepts.
