My Tour of Sweden roommate, already the Swedish iron distance record holder (8:15:xx), added another title to his palmares today.

2:47!! wow thats fast.
did i hear you are doing an IM this year?
I was thinking of going to Ireland on the 23rd of this month, but life’s too busy. I’m entered in Lake Placid for next July with an eye towards returning to Kona next October.
Congrats to Clas!!! Awesome performance…was he not sick some time ago? And what’s this about Bjorn being a better dancer than triathlete?
Dude…come up to Ottawa for the Canadian (IM distance) or Montreal for Esprit…with the 2:15 Tupper Lake bike split we don’t want to see that fitness sit on the sidelines. Can you make it to Timberman.
All I can say is I am glad that I am not racing LP 45-49 next year. Ian Fraser also signed up and he’s done top 20 at LP before and will be in 45-49. My wife was bugging me last nite to submit my registration to IM France which I have not as yet done!
Clas had overtrained in the past, but he’s over that.
He still trains like a fiend. He had me running almost every day on top of all the cycling but clearly it worked for him with that smoking marathon.
I think what has made the difference this time and has allowed him to train at a very high level but not break down is his total commitment to a complete lifestyle. Clas takes his rest and recovery nutrition VERY seriously.
Dev, I’d love to race Esprit but I’m racing S.O.S. here in my hometown. Concerning S.O.S., Tour of Sweden organizer and 2 time Ultraman World Champion, Jonas Colting, will be racing it as well.
I’m racing locally every weekend in August so no Timberman for me.
Wow, what a wife! Actually bugging you to race; many on this website would say you’re very lucky.
Of course, so am I - how many wives let their husbands take off to Sweden for 2 weeks on a moments notice to ride his bicycle?
Great to hear about Clas, and indeed that recovery and rest part is where most of us blow it big time!
Racing local is certainly a good plan…aside from Timberman, I am staying local the rest of the year (Canadian half, Esprit half, Army Run half marathon and hopefully a few 10K’s this fall, before heading out on business to Asia)…but if you change your mind you have a place to stay in Ottawa for the Canadian…I believe Eric Roy is doing the Aquabike to gear up for IM Florida. But regarding racing locally, I think you have to pick your battles so that you do get passes to go ride in Sweden or get bugged to hit active.com/france to sign up for events…yes, lucky indeed.
Not only did Clas beat the swedish record, but on the womans side, Eva Nystrom also beat the record whit
a 1.03 swim 4.49 bike 3:14 run, the next female was an hour back…as an American triathlete living in
Sweden, watching her race was UNBELIEVABLE!!! Someone needs to pick her up, and get
her going in the big leagues… 9:09
Well, to be correct Clas took the course record. He already has the swedish record on the distance (8h15) since Roth a few years back. This was his first “real” triathlon competition since 2006, overtraining seems like a real b**ch to have…
