Cincinnati Folks. Visiting from Texas. Staying in Hamilton.
Help me find a Swim place or Bike Ride.
Where in Cincinnati could I catch a good coached Swim Workout on Fri/Sat/Sun this week.
Any good bike rides in the 35 - 40 mile range…20 to 21 mph.

Staying way up in Hamilton? LOTS of places to swim. You can drive up to Caesar’s creek on Sat morning as there are usually 10-20 people doing open water swims. Mercy Healthplex is just south of there (just North of the I-275 belt).
LOTS of rides on Sat/Sun of varying distances/speeds. Sat rides usually around 40 miles out of Loveland at 8:30 am. You want to be in the 2nd speed group or “gazettes” or “pursuers” as they are called. Sun rides tend to be longer (I usually do 75-100). I’ll be out of town this weekend, but kittycat can hook you up with Caesar’s creek. That is her bike distance/speed as well.
hey! sounds good!
i’m toasted from long run tonight in the high humidity; so will respond tomorrow with more details; rroof has given you the crux of it though ![]()
more tomorrow!

HI, there is a Master’s swimming at Blue Ash YMCA. i don’t swim with them, so don’t know details–you’ll have to call.
Additionally, Xavier University offers Master’s swimming M/W/F at 6:30pm. It is coached–not sure all nights, or just a couple of those nights. it is 5 bucks to get in as a visitor.
our www.cincyexpress.org tri team is going to have some peeps doing open swim/ride 28-30/run 9 on Saturday at Caesar Creek. there should be a whole gaggle of triathletes training there. upwards of 60 people with TNT and other groups along with cincy express. if interested, i encourage you to go on our google groups and introduce yourself so that people know you’re coming and will look out for you.
as for rides, check out www.gears4beers.org the google groups. this is the group rroof referenced. i will meet up with slowtwitcher cincytri this Sunday, and we’ll either do our own long ride, or ride to the start of the 8:30 G4B ride.
To echo Rod, if you show for these rides, go with the middle group–do NOT go with the “gazelles”, the fastest roadie group, unless you can draft and pull at speeds of at least 25mph+ for 50 to 60 miles.
if you go to that Sunday G4B ride, look for me. i ride a celeste bianchi with white bar tape. also have on the red and blue Campus Cyclery Midwest Flyers jersey.
lastly, i have g-friends coming for brunch on Saturday. so my plan for Saturday is to swim at YMCA outdoor long course and run 60 minutes after. you are more than welcome to meet me for this. i have a guest pass for the YMCA and happy to get you in. we can do our own swim and run…my run pace will be 9-10 minute miles; as i’ll be saving legs for long ride on Sunday…but you can run with me, or run ahead.
the other reference i have for you is www.cincinnaticycleclub.org there may be some rides closer to you in Hamilton>to be honest, i don’t really even know where Hamilton is or how to get there. so i don’t know if the G4B ride is a far drive or not.
The information in this link may still be accurate for swimming:

I ended up going to the Anderson Barracudas practice last December. It was a reasonably good workout, and I think they are year round. In the small world category, it turned out the coach that night was on a team that I swam against once or twice in high school. I think that you have to be a USMS member to swim with them.
