Ciclosport HAC4

Anyone have experience with the ciclosport HAC4 computer? How reliable is the transmission with the wireless… likes dislikes? Any feedback would be helpful

USPS and Lance seem OK with it.

I have one, although I don’t really use it much anymore. Mostly because I simply wasn’t using any of the functionality.

My thoughts:

The wireless transmission is pretty solid. You might get interference from power lines, etc, but I never did.

There are loads of features, and it is fairly intuitive to navigate once you get used to it

The power measurement is an estimate only, and basically always assumes steady state for the grade you are climbing. It cannot handle sprints.

The sampling interval for the download function is fixed at 15 or 20 seconds (I forget which). Again, not great for sprint work, but fine for steady state TT efforts.

The software is a bit clunky, and can be a bit difficult to figure out. mostly because of the translation from German.

The interface is good, but occasionally (rare, once or twice) I had bad data transfers.

I had the North American version, I guess, which is set to miles, mph, etc. I was unable to change to metric, which I prefer. I don’t know if that was me not knowing how to do it, or if you simply cannot.

Overall, I thought it was a decent product, but If I were serious about training with power measurements I would use a different product, like SRM or Powertap.
