Anybody use this unit? I was looking into one, and even though I already have a good bike computer I was interested because it seems to have alot of versatility.

I have one but I don’t use it as I always had trouble figuring out how to use certain functions, namely the functions that made the computer look like it would be a valuable asset. And I currently use an SRM which is not the easiest system to successfully operate. But that said, my mother uses a HAC 4 that I got her and she loves it, downloads her rides, etc. So, if you are good with computers (the home variety), it is a worthwhile investment and can provide many functions at a reasonable price.

cons:
- average speed only 2 digits - e.g. 36.1 and 36.9 both result in an avg of 36 (all km/h
- my german version can’t be adjusted to miles
i especially like and use the variometer function a lot.

I have been dating a girl for 4 years, so I don’t need to worry about meeting girls at parties, but point taken. Seriously though, she started racing triathlon at age 50 after having never run a mile before in her life but watching my brother and I compete in numerous sports. Her first race was the Meek and Mighty at St. Anthony’s, she rode my race bike with a deep dish front and 4 spoke rear wheel with the seat all the way down, and she was hooked. Now she has been to Worlds 3 times and run a marathon and is the race director of two sprint tris in Northern Virginia and is a USAT coach putting on clinics for beginners. I wish I got her hooked on the sport earlier, because as soon as I did she went from not letting me get new race wheels to wanting some of her own! So I am proud of her and take every opportunity I can get to brag about her. Sorry you were my latest victim.
If you are a techno-file and able to comprehend overly simplified directions this is the computer for you. I haven’t been able to get the cadence sensor to work, but I haven’t exactly been motivated. If anyone knows where you are suppossed to put the sensor for the cadence and what the additional magnet on the back wheel is for, please let me know. I am a simple man and it has escaped me on how to get it to work.
