Chupacabras

Does anybody here likes very long mountain races? Here in Mexico (Cd. Juarez Chihuahua, next to El Paso, TX), exists el Chupacabras Race which is a 100 Km mountain bike race, if you finish between the first 500 you get a Jersey, last year there were 2000 competitors …

I did it last year and it was tough! It is an awesome race, only $10 entry fee and the first 500 finishers get a free bike jersey! I would reccommend it.

Andd how it went for you? unfortunately I was 572 so I didn´t get the jersey just a keyholder >:(, however I´´m planning to do better this year

I was late to the start and ended up starting way in the back. I was working my way up the entire race until I had a flat on the way back through the homes and pavement section. Something was wrong with my spare tube and I waited for a biddy of mine to give me another then we rode in together. Still finished in the top 500 though. It is on my schedule again for this year, as is Socorro, NM’s Fat Tire Fiesta 100k race.

Are there any chupacabras on the course?

Weel there were reports of Chupacabras attacks near the race course, thats hoe the race got his name, however maybe the Chupacabras had to change it´s location since the race attracts a lot of people .

I’m more of a Han Solo fan myself…

Chupa cabras. Goat Suckers. What a great name for a race, with spectacular graphics that could be put on the shirts! I’d love to do that one just for the shirt!
