Well, I figure someone will post on this week’s episode, so it might as well be me. And I’m not even going to extol the virtues of centerpull brakes. Or chamois cream, for that matter.
My former college roommate lives in Banyoles, about 15 minutes west of Girona. I went to visit him for a couple of weeks in February. Really is a pretty city, ringed by a huge stone ruin of a castle wall. Neat stuff. We walked by Lance’s house, which is on a street of ‘la Rambla’, the main commercial area of town. Nice neighborhood. No Lance sightings for me, but my friend has seen him and the USPS team on the road a number of times.
Outside mag just named Girona as one of the best places in Europe to live and train. I could see why. About an hour south (by car) of the Pyrnees and an hour west of the Mediterranean. You can get a little of anything.
