Christmas Alcohol of the Day

I’d call it beer of the day, but someone would point out it’s not “beer”

Apricot ale, well it’s just peachy. Works for me!

Local craft brewer’s bourbon barrel aged gingerbread stout. An alcoholic’s Christmas wish come true.

that looks awesome!

It’s every bit as good as it sounds.

“Hardywood Gingerbread Stout, described by BeerAdvocate as “freagin’ Christmas in a bottle,” is an imperial milk stout brewed with vanilla beans, cinnamon, fresh Casselmonte Farm baby ginger and Bearer Farms wildflower honey. Gingerbread Stout is then matured in Virginia bourbon barrels, where it adapts an incredibly mellow character with oak, caramel and bourbon undertones, and emerges 12 weeks later as Bourbon GBS. A festive blend of spice character laces this rich, chocolatey stout, which warms the palate and the soul.”

It’s not Christmas yet!!! How can I know what I’m going feel like having? Right now, it’s some Sierra Nevada Narwhal. Later might be some Victory at Sea from Ballast Point. Tomorrow could be some more Consecration or my last bottle of Pliny from Russian River. Maybe heavy doses of Jameson. Who knows?! Melehkaleehkeemahkah!

With the ham, I plan to serve Pinot Noir. But I also made a Cranberry wine that quite interesting. Kind of sweet and tart at the same time. We’ll probably have that after dinner.

Christmas Eve…

Abita Imperial Stout. I drank the entire pint + 6 oz.

It was delicious.

Whiskey night, 2 old fashons, one Manhattan, and working on a bourbon with ginger ale

Rum & egg nog, red wine at the meal followed with Bailey’s with a few craft beer chasers work fine for me.

Earlier tonight, I was just talking about this beer with my cousin at a family gathering. He lives in Richmond now.

Sweet Lucy bourbon liquor and a bit of Southern Comfort Vanilla egg nog with a little black strap rum to warm it up in our house. A bottle of pink moscato wine with the rock Cornish hens tonight to round out the bottle menu.

The St. Benardus Abt 12 is probably my favorite beer in the world, so I have high hopes for the Christmas Abbey Ale.
Picked up a quad too.
