I’ve just been in Roth doing the challenge race. While I was there I did some interviews for Ironman Talk. I caught up with: Chris McCormack, Thomas Hellriegel, Eneko Llanos and Chris McDonald. There were great interviews.
To get the interviews go to www.ironmantalk.com and click on the photo of each athlete.
I gotta admit I was hesitant to download “another” Macca interview figuring I’d hear the same ole…
The birds drove me nuts and I almost nixed it at 5 mins.
Glad, I didn’t.
Quite a visionary on several topics (Gold/Silver/Bronze IM finshers, Keeping the sport alive, Federation politics, Age Grouper influence…and I’m only 25% through it).
Perhaps the best “Macca” interview I’ve heard; hopefully I don’t change my mind in the next 45 mins.
Bevan- That was the best Macca interview I’ve ever heard (of the many I’ve listened to.) Congratulations. This is an interview that should not be missed. I particularly liked his take on motivation for his kids to achieve (verb)…“how it takes courage to put yourself out there and go for the impossible dream, while 99% of the world will sit back and criticize, and I call them cowards…” that’s a classic quote and right on the money. Great job!
Despite Macca’s performance and the other Pros’ results, the man to watch in the future is Jacobs. A class act fella, super nice guy, an aggressive competitor which will soon lead an Ironman from tape to tape.
That was a a very good interview and Chris McCormack made some great comments.
Even though I disagree whith what he said about the “IM wow factor” being gone. Even as of today, very few people of done an IM (even though there are more and more people doing it but probably in the range of maybe 30,000 to 50,000 new people a year)
