I have been looking at what the differences are between Chorus 11 and Record 11. Other than weight and surface finishing, are there any other differences?
Just like Ultegra, Chorus has always been the MUCH better buy. It’s simply a bit heavier. The only case where Chorus may “fall short” is that in the past, the cranks have not been as stiff. Other than that, the only real difference is usually ti vs. stainless bolts, less carbon, etc. In general, there is no reason to pay for Record over Chorus, just as there is no real reason to pay for Dura-Ace over Ultegra.
I have not examined 11 sp Chorus personally, but from reading it seems that 10 sp Record = 11 sp Super Record, 10 sp Chorus = 11 sp Record and 10 sp Centaur = 11 sp Chorus. You now have to go to Super Record to get the titanium bolts and some extra carbon bits; and 11 sp Chorus no longer has bearings in the shifter internals and the brake calipers, where 10 sp did. Not sure where the new Athena fits, it’s 11 sp but I wonder if it has the multiple upshifts and downshifts which is not present in Centaur.

I have a friend who is selling his Chorus 11 for around $900 if you are interested
.
If you want cranks longer than 175 mm you’ll need to go Record for the crank. Other than that, Chorus is the sweet spot of affordability vs. performance in the Campy line.

Is it a used set?
Chorus also does not allow you to swing out the numbers of gear changes that Record and Super Record do, used to be any in the line could drop 8-9 on a swing, now you have a limit of 3.
