Chicagoland Training Suggestions?

I am going to a conference in Chicago next week- and just found out that my hotel doesn’t have a pool! Does anyone have suggestions on where I can go to swim? Also- are there any organized training runs (close to downtown)? Thanks!

Try this page for runs, though I’d definitely call to confirm. The weather here is pretty nice now…

I just got back from Chi, you can go to the Niketown store on Michigan Ave, they do group runs at 6pm, lots of people. Or just run along the lakeshore trail, even by yourself it’s totally safe.

PM me if you want more info.

Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays run chicago has speed workouts at Chicago ave and lakeshore drive on a quarter mile track.

If you want to swim you can go to hotel intercontinental, they have a 50M pool you can get into for a small fee.

There may be some gyms in the area that will sell you a 1 day pass. I work at one local gym close to downtown, but don’t know if they’ll do that or not. If you’re interested let me know I’ll check for you.

If you’re bringing your bike you can ride the lake front path either way from downtown for as long as you like. Early mornings are better the later if the weather is nice. Running is also good on the lake front. I also prefer early than later for that.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! :o)

ECE- there is a small gym at my hotel, so I should be covered there. The 50M pool at HI sounds great, I will have to look into that. Thanks!
