So the group my wife runs with normally starts a summer clinic in June, and chooses the “group” marathon at that point. In 2006 that race was Chicago. The past 2 years have had different marathons, but a lot of people have gone to Chicago on their own. There has been a clamoring for the group to go back this year, but as many of you are familiar, registration has closed long before June rolled around. It has reached a point where they are trying to decide within the week.
Anyone have any ideas just how much time they have to play with? I couldn’t see anything on the site about signups at this point. She can run whatever race she wants, but something just isn’t sitting right with me about needing to commit to a marathon so far out in advance. There are a couple of other unknowns that could be huge factors in deciding which race, which is why I’m curious as to closure time.
The Boston experience is not making me feel good about having a lot of time to decide.
