I’m flying into O’hare tommorow, is there a train that will take me downtown(Grant Park), or am I going to have to jump trains, any sort of details would be greatly appreciated.
I figured why not ask a tri site for travel advice.
blue line I think will take you in to the loop.
Yup - just get on the outbound and stay on it.
I concur with AndrewMC–Blue Line will take you direct from O’Hare to downtown. I don’t recall exactly where the Blue Line ends up in relation to the Loop, though. You can get maps and stuff off the Chicago Transpo Authority webpage; I think you might be best served by transferring at some point to the Brown or Orange so you can cruise the loop and get off as close to Grant Park as possible.
Yes, it’s the blue line from ORD to the loop (Dearborn St, 3 blks west of Mich Ave). Are you willing to walk a few blks from there? Check the map so you know which loop stop is closest to you destination:
Yep, walkings cool, pretty much just as long as I get downtown area I’m fairly familiar. Thanks alot, I knew you guys wouldn’t let me down.
Jeff
The Blue line will do it, you shouldn’t have to transfer. It’s a short hike from Washington or Jackson to Millenium Park/Grant Park.

What’s the “I”?

“L” It’s short for elevated trains. Public transportation subway/elevated train system that goes through the Chi.
Yeah, I know, just a little joke.
the CTA calls if the “El”
No worries. South siders always say the L. Sure miss it.
Know that it will take just less than an hour by train.
FYI- a cab can be anywhere from 25 minutes to an hour depending on traffic, and would be just shy of $40, including tip.
