When you’re in the shower, as you’re lying in bed and can’t fall asleep, maybe as a part of foreplay, preferrably not while driving or in public places, but periodically and routinely check yourself. Beginning with light gentle pressure and gradually increase the pressure, poke around your neck for your thyroid gland (it’s just under your adam’s apple), men grab (gently) your scrotum and roll it around in your hand a little (like you really need an excuse to do this), women in circular motions probe around your breasts. Be aware of any lumps or irregularities. If you find a lump or irregularity, GET IT CHECKED OUT! Don’t wait, don’t worry that you’re wasting your time and your Dr’s time, get it checked out.
If you check my other thread regarding my wife and thyroid cancer you will see why this is now an important matter to me. She found the lump on her neck on her own. She wasn’t actively looking for a lump, just happened to find one. It wasn’t found by a trained professional, just at home. Had she waited until it was actually discovered by someone else…well I shudder to think that at point it may have been too late.
Don’t kid yourself, you’re not invincible and cancer is a bad mamma-jamma. Don’t risk it, check yourself and if you find something get it checked out.
