Check out this tool

http://www.heywhatsthat.com/profiler.html

Click on the map to select start/endpoints, use “smooth route” to follow the road (at least that’s how I think it works after about 5min of playing) and then “draw profile” to get your elevation profile.

Pretty cool toy…

I thought I was going to see a picture of you.

Oh SNAP!

I was looking for a picture of a guy with his aero helmet on backwards running out of T2
.

I was worried there was going to be a picture of me doing something stupid in this thread
.

I thought it was a revival of this guy.

Thanks Khai. I doing a flight later this year and was not sure how many miles it was going to be. Now I know. 32,593 miles!

Nice. I prefer mapmyride.com. It allows you to plot your coarse with straight lines on a windy road. It automatically follows the road in street view. It has a ton of different training features also. sorry to HJ you thread. They also have mapmytri to add tri specific work outs.

That’s a pretty slick tool as well. I usually use the google maps pedometer, but am always curious to see if there’s a better tool out there.
I especially like the gradient bars that the elevation profile gives - a nice touch.

Oh my fucking god. Who the hell is that? If he’s on these forums he must be flogged publicy.

Nice! I’ve been looking for something like this. I’ve used mapmytri before, but the elevation feature never works for me for some reason, and I like how this follows the road.
Thanks for pointing it out!

another thing that’s nice is you can PRINT, w/o paying (unlike mapmyrun.com) !

Nice…cross with an aero helmet and aero bottle…that’s mounted SIDEWAYS on the bars!

Nice, but I personally use www.veloroutes.org for all my route mapping needs. You can use point-to-point or auto-routing (follow the road) or mix the two together for road + trail runs. You can save routes and get permalinks for them. Pretty much covers everything I need!
