Check out this bike set-up!

Can you say NECK CRAMP?

http://www.byrn.org/gallery/mr_a_bk.jpg

Facts:Bjorn Anderson’s bike for upcoming IM NZ. P3 size 58, 58 tooth big chainring, tip of nose 5 cm behind BB and about a mile between top of saddle and top of aerobars!!!

Even though the clamp is in the 74 degree position the fact that the saddle is pushed all the way forward I bet the effective seat tube angle he is riding at is about 77 degrees. However, can’t quite understand how the nose is 5cm behind BB if saddle so far forward. Can you?

I think I’d be kneeing myself in the chest every pedal stroke!

That must his training wheelset right?

Neck Cramp? How about Numb Pee Pee…

How tall is this guy? Maybe he has Orangutan arms.

Note the Campy Record Crank and Shift Levers…

Note the 10 Speed DA…

This photo is also posted on Gordo’s site. Belongs to Bjorn Anderson. Notice that he’s riding at 74 degrees. You’d think that unless he’s imitating the TDF TT guys, it would be more appropriate to flip the seat post to 78 degrees if going that low.

Note the 10 Speed DA…
Probably a spare as he keeps his Record parts for races…dont want to damamge the good equipment training… :stuck_out_tongue:

Bjorn on his road bike (set up identically, according to those travelling with him):

Compact, powerful, and not nearly so cramped up as the P3 photo might indicate. Looks a lot like Larsen’s position, frankly.

“Even though the clamp is in the 74 degree position the fact that the saddle is pushed all the way forward I bet the effective seat tube angle he is riding at is about 77 degrees” Whoops, I missed that. Ignore my last post.

It makes me wonder why if Bjorn is so dam fast and rides such an agressive position why haven’t we heard of him anywhere. I mean Larsen sets a record split at Vineman and rides an aero position and everybody was talking about him. Contrary to Larsen this guy also swims and runs.

I recal we’ve had a big discussion about his position. He was really different from larsen though.

Bjorn is (I think)from Sweden so I believe he is fairly well known in Europe as a top level tri guy.

Man, that is incredible. I doubt I could ride it 10 miles, let alone 112. Amazing.

He was way out in front at IM NZ last year, when severe leg cramps threw him to the side of the road (result of back problems he’d been having).

Cam Brown only beat him by a handful of seconds at the Utah 1/2 IM Duathlon.

He won 1/2 IM Britain in a runaway last year.

The guy rocks. If he executes well, he’s on the podium next week at NZ.

I think he’s changed his bike position a little since that last thread. The photos of him from 1/2 IM Britain looked quite a bit different from IMNZ last year.

Look at the amount of seat post. The more seat post, the farther back the saddle starts. THAT’S how come he’s still 5 cm behind the BB. Its simple geometry.

Dude can ride. If you recall Skid’s Epic Camp writeups, this is the Mr Anderssen who was punishing them all camp. Apparently he can swim & run, too.

Those are DA 10s shifters.

I wonder if he’s running 177.5 mm cranks or longer, the DA stuff has been hard to come by in those lengths, a flip flop from when the big boys would run DA on their Campy bike for 180 crank lengths.

Is there an advantage to running longer cranks for TTs? I have been hearing that Indurain road 185s or something like that. Just curious. I’m 6’-1".
