Check out my new French mistress (Look 596)

id do her
.

Easy tiger, you obviously missed the smileys in both my posts.

I haven’t cut the bars yet. I’m going to do a few rides and dial in my fit before I cut anything.

It was a small.

She is gorgeous. I want one!

I was told I could a red large asap, but I’m impatiently waiting for a large white one
.

Congrats on the weight loss and bike. Very nice choice - I like it. Looks fast just sitting there - now go through a chain every year and I guarantee it will be faster

100 lbs? Holy crap! Congratulations - that bike is well earned.

BTW, though, you should photograph the bike with the drive-side crank forward and horizontal. And the mortar on your brick wall needs repointing, too.

Even though it is setup for a fat guy with back problems still looks better than the ghetto gold one we saw earlier.

They had a white one there as well. It is equally nice but I preferred the red. You will not be disappointed. I felt your pain waiting for your bike. A few other retailers that I wanted to work with had the bike but not the components. The thought of waiting indefinitely for parts to build just wasn’t something I was willing to do after waiting so long for the bike and components I wanted to hit the streets. You have more patience than I do but as they say, all good things come to those who wait. Of course, sometimes good things come to those if us who refuse to wait a little quicker. I’m excited to see your build.

It was a small.

Hey, nice bike. Congrats (on the bike and the weight). May I ask how tall you are? I´m still trying to figure out my size on this bike.

Thanks!!! Now if only there were a pair of shoes I lusted after the way I lusted after this bike to keep me motivated while running.

Congratulations on the weight loss and the bike. Great job on the build. I have a red frame in at Tom D. Bikesports, waiting for some parts. I will be mounting some HED Vantage 8 aero bars. I also have a Powertap. Stupid question, where are you going to mount the yellow Powertap computer?

I’m 5’9" with a longer torso compared to my inseam. I did cut a lot of seat post off but that isn’t a big deal. There are a lot of sizing options on this bike. I think the stem I have will be too long in a month or two. R and A has all 3 stem lengths but they retail for like $300 (you get one free). Figuring out the right stem is the real challenge for the fit as the XS/S and M/L are basically the same sizes with different reach (S and L built for forward facing seat post according to Jordan Rapp’s analysis).

Good question. I was planning to do it on the inside of the aerobar but if I decide to use an aero drink system up front I guess that won’t work. I might have to figure out a way to get it on the stem. I’ll have to play and see what works.

Thats so so cool it was a win-win for you lose 100 lbs and get the bike of your dreams. Have a kick butt time on your new ride. 2009 is going to be your year of accomplishments so roll with it and enjoy.

Sweet bike! Somehow the name Collette isn’t sexy enough for it…should be something like Monique, or perhaps…Dominique

Dude, that has to be the ugliest Tri bike I’ve seen all year… Luckily, the year ain’t over!

What’s the point of a cut out if the wheel sits an inch behind the ST?

ouch!
Wow! I love it! That bike is so amazing looking! Congrats on losing the 100 lbs. How did you do it?

Congrats on losing 100 lbs. That is an amazing accomplishment. You are the man. Keep up the good work.

Awesome bike man.

Cant say that Ive really been a fan of the 596…till now.
Sweet ride, and congrats on the weight loss.
