It was quite interesting. Did anybody hear what his fine was for not using team issue clothing? McGee sure looked fast today, man that guy can hammer!
According to cyclingnews, he got a fine of 700 euros.
McGee did more than look fast, he completely dominated the prologue. To win a TT that short by 10 seconds, and 20 seconds up on 3rd place… that is absolutely incredible.
He must be pleased with his progress towards the Individual Pursuit in Athens.
Maybe the outfit helped. He rode a fast TT today, finishing 11th out of 169.

here is a link to some tour de georgia photos and movie clips (w/audio) taken by a guy in my cycling club. check out the clip of cipo stopping to kiss the guy’s wife on hogpen gap. hogpen is 7 miles long, averages 9% with some 18% sections. more ammo for the argument that cipo is the coolest man alive.

Now cyclingnews is saying that the fine was CHF200. Call it a one-day license to wear something other than the official team kit.
It is outrageous, but it worked: We’re talking about it aren’t we?
I like it. The gold and white is rarely seen in tour racing. Plus it makes the advertisements subtle, but not invisible, a very good thing. His only real problem is running stock Mavic decals. Ugly. Should use a Gibli on the back, and maybe a gold lettered deep dish (though a four spoke would be better.) Mario is style, but he still falls short from time to time.
