I’ve been thinking about getting some rollers for the winter and i’ve searched the old posts and some say they can get them for $100 from Performance and Nashbar, but the closest i’ve found is $119 on sale from supergo.com. Anyone have a link to a cheap set of rollers?
I am not too sure you want cheap rollers. I would buy good rollers used. Not sure of all the brands, but I have seen some of the poly drums warp and have heard some really loud bearings. Not saying 100$ rollers are a bad thing, just be careful. My "old " rollers are twenty some years old for an average cost of about $5 a year. G
I got a set of Tacx rollers that were around $120 from my lbs. They work great.

Yup Tacx rule, had mine for 8 years, no problems. I also have a pair of fans to increase the resistance.
I too am thinking of getting some rollers for this off season. And I have similar questions as Erik in CT… I guess I’d want to know what exactly does one look for in a good set of rollers? While I see the $100-ish sets in Performance, I’ve also seen the $300-ish sets by Kreitzler (I think that’s the name) in other catalogs. What’s the difference. If I go to a lbs, what do I look for?
I use Cycleops rollers, that I’ve had for about 5 years. I think I paid about 125-150 for them. They’re fine, plastic drums and all. I cant’t see spending hundreds on rollers … it’s dreadful enough as it is.
I have some of the cheap Nashbar rollers from maybe four years ago. Used them for the first time in a while a few weeks ago, and one of the drums is fairly warped. They’re still kinda usuable, but I’ll by better ones when I feel like using rollers again.
I got some Minora Action Mags off ebay, but without the resistance unit. I think I paid $90. Kreitlers are top of the line, I kept bidding on some used ones, but always got outbid.
