Cheap Maltodextrin

A friend that works in an LBS just told me that you can buy inexpensive maltodextrin (like Carbo-pro) from wine making shops. Does anyone out there have experience with this? I’ve been having great success adding malto’ to my drink but would love to save a little money.

I got mine from a local beer brewing shop. You can get kilo bags for ~ $3
