Just wondering if it effects the sensor mats ability to read the chip if it is tucked under your wetsuit? I would rather wear it under my wetsuit so when I peel it off it dosn’t get ripped off but was unsure if it would interfere with the signal. Thanks Norm.
wear it under your wetsuit.
No problem - I always wear it under the suit.
But NEVER EVER wear two chips that are touching each other.
Why would you? Well usually you would not, but on April 18 at the Honolulu Tri I walked to the swim start (bloody long way from T1) with my personal chip to get it registered for the race. RD said it was too late to regiuster my personal chip so gave me a regular chip which I attached to the same ankle.
Apparantly 2 chips in very close proximity cause a null signal so I got no splits. Luckily they do manual backup timing for the overall time.
Were you even there? I don’t remember seeing you. Who you trying to fool now? :~)
See you Saturday morning -------- but please bring just one chip. :~)
Aloha,
Larry
Hi Larry,
I shall only bring one chip on Saturday - but it will be the “chip on my shoulder”. The timing for Mokuleia is manual.
See ya tomorrow. Mark
Man, how can you race tomorrow after Keauhou? I still have trouble walking up stairs! I’ll be lucky if I can run hard at Honu next week!
Well have fun out there and save something for the qualifier!
I have done stuff-all this week, except a swim, and a race pace 3 mile run. Probably do a bike this afternoon. No real distance work. Actually, I was surprised that my recovery was real short after Keauhou.
Only real reason I am doing Mokuleia 1 week before Honu is that this is the race that started me in tri’s exactly 2 years ago, so it has “sentimental” value, and also that Chris Garnder puts on a great race.
See you in Kona next week! aloha
